Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 11, 2026

Slow ("Slow", "we", "us") is a sleep and relaxation app made by Frekvens AS, based in Norway. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the app, we don't show ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Apple or create an account with email, we receive your email address and the name you provide. We use this to create and secure your account.

Your answers and preferences. During onboarding we ask a few questions about your nights (for example what you struggle with and which sounds you like). We store these with your account so the app can shape recommendations around you. Your favorites and saved soundscape mixes are stored the same way.

Purchase information. If you subscribe, Apple processes the payment. We receive your subscription status (active, trial, expired) so we can unlock the app for you — never your card details.

Usage analytics. We collect anonymous-by-default product events (for example which screens are used and which features are tried) to understand what helps people wind down and what doesn't. You can turn analytics off any time in Settings → Analytics.

Crash reports. If the app crashes, a technical report (device model, iOS version, what the app was doing) is sent to us so we can fix it. Crash reports are not used for advertising or profiling.

Stored only on your device. Your wind-down streak, calm minutes, bedtime routine, and reminder times live in local storage on your iPhone. They are not uploaded to our servers.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or rent your personal data.
  • We don't show third-party ads.
  • We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Who processes data for us

We use a small number of service providers to run Slow, each bound by data-processing agreements:

  • Apple — sign-in (Sign in with Apple) and payment processing.
  • Google Firebase — authentication, database, file storage, and crash reporting.
  • RevenueCat — subscription status management.
  • PostHog — product analytics (only if analytics is enabled).

Some providers process data in the United States. Where data leaves the EEA, transfers are protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Your account data is kept for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing us), your account and the data linked to it are permanently deleted. Aggregated analytics that can no longer identify you may be retained.

Your rights

If you're in the EEA, UK, or a region with similar laws, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can exercise most of these directly in the app (Settings), or email us at frekvens.as@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority — in Norway, Datatilsynet.

Legal bases

We process your data to perform our contract with you (running the app and your subscription), based on your consent (analytics, optional reminders), and for our legitimate interests (keeping the app secure and fixing crashes).

Children

Slow is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
